Jewish Warsaw Tour

Before we confront the devastation of the war years, we’ll begin by exploring how Warsaw became home to the largest and most vibrant Jewish community in Europe. You’ll learn about the early arrival of Jewish settlers, and how the community evolved over the centuries into a vital and dynamic part of Warsaw’s identity.

On this tour, we’ll uncover the hidden remnants that still bear witness to the past. We’ll visit the only remaining fragment of the ghetto wall and the Nożyk Synagogue—the sole synagogue in Warsaw to survive the war.

You’ll learn why the Warsaw Ghetto was divided into “small” and “large” sections, and how they were connected during the occupation. We’ll stand at the site of the Umschlagplatz Memorial, once a massive railway and warehouse depot from which thousands of Jews were deported to the Treblinka death camp.
